Recount Writing

Catching Flounder

Early this morning 12 students from Team 5 got the chance to go catch Flounder. While they were setting up to catch the Flounder the rest of the school were have a morning assembly outside on the courts.  We started walking over after we had of team 5 assembly. When the whole school arrived Judah, Cameo, Heather and Hendrix were called up to start the Karakia. After we finished the Karakia Mr Burt was explaining to us what we will do when we get there. The morning assembly finished and the year 1 & 2's started walking over to the reserve following them were the rest of the school. When we arrived we saw the 12 students ready to catch the flounder. They had a huge net and some more equipment to help them catch the flounder. We couldn't see the other equipment because we were a far distance away from them. When we stopped we did 2 Waiata's to bless them and show them our support. We only stayed for 4 or 5 minutes and had to walk back. Our school started walking back to school. When we got to school. Team 5 sat in the street and had a few words from the teachers and how they though it was. Some people thought it was great some didn't. It would of been more fun if we stayed longer at the reserve watching them catch the flounder.

Ch ch ch ch CHANGES

Ch ch ch ch CHANGES our last term!!! The terms theme is all about science and cooking and these are well known to many people.  If you don’t know what science is? Science is something that very brainy people try out new things and find out extremely hard things. Everyone knows what cooking is if not cooking is when adults make food and that is called cooking.

Team 1 started off first. Team one’s teachers had came out of the sides and were witches and they had different kind of cooking ingredients. They were flying around the pot on their brooms and putting ingredients every time they passed and we didn’t know what was going to happen. They had stopped and had taking the pot and had put it into a home-made oven and was wondering what was going to happen? They had put it in and they had ended up making a cake!!!

Team 2 was up next. They tested out what can float in the water and they were testing a lot of things and were throwing them into the pool. They did one out a time and saw what can float and what can sink down to the bottom of the pool. After that they went inside and were in the kitchen showing what was solid and liquid. They were using egg as the liquid and ice as solid.

Then after team 2 it was team 3. Team 3 were doing science experiments and the teachers were acting as rashin scientists. They were doing a lot of different experiments and in the video they were using dish washing liquid in a lot of the experiments. Some of them were already well known to a lot of people at school like the coke and mentos one. A lot of them we ones that people didn’t know and were colourful in most of them and mr blake was acting as the rashin scientists.

I was looking forward for team 4’s video!!! They were doing science too! They were doing a TV show called Mythbusters. The Mythbusters are two people that test out old things and new things and test it out to show if it's confirmed or busted. Mr Somerville and Mr Goodwin were acting as the Mythbusters and trying out funny things at school. One made me laugh!!! They had did: Do lollies help kids learn and david ended up shaking on the table.LOL

I couldn't wait for our team's theme because the teachers had a choice to do cooking or science for this term's topic. The choices that they had to make were both great choices for the kids because                            they are well known. Mr Wiseman the science nerd and his salve tried or tested different experiments on each teacher. Mrs Tele’a, Miss Berry and Miss Clark were the people getting tested on and they all had funny ones.

This is term is going to be fun and i’m thinking was a great ending for 2016 because there is a lot to this is term. This is probably the best term that I have had out of all the terms that I have gone throw from year 1.

The Mobile Garden

I have read the book Mobile garden and the presentation that I have done is got
all the information that I need to complete. I have made my own mobile thing
and its on the last slide and its a siren that turned into a siren that moves around.

The strength of roots

This strength of roots is a story all about a book when a tree save's a boys life
and the roots saved him. He was hanging from the tree and people were
searching for survives.

HIwi the Kiwi

Mark the founder of Hiwi the Kiwi and his gorgeous wife Chrissy had traveled to Auckland to come see us. Mark and Chrissy travel around New Zealand explaining why we need to be water safety. Hiwi the Kiwi announced that they would be teaching us why we need to keep our areas safe and clean. They had told a lot of schools interesting things about fishing and keeping it clean.

Hiwi the Kiwi are very well known to a origination of New Zealand school children around the New Zealand. With their road show having toured greatly, captivating and uplifting almost tens thousands of children over the past 8 to 10 years. Mark and Chrissy have been married for more than thirty years and have a great relationship. They are very passion about singing and even create their own songs then sing them.

They had sang a song when we were entering the hall and they had told as there names. Most of us found out a lot of interesting things about their lives and what they do around New Zealand school’s. They started another song and they started to make the guitar sounds faster and faster each time. They had started to sing when it got to the max level and his wife showed the moves.

Mark sang a song named save our seabirds or other words S.O.S. Chrissy had taken care of the dance move’s and showed as what to do when Mark sing the song. Some of the parts were very hilarious and also made us laugh while singing. If the bird can’t reach it give yourself a tick cause if the berk birds dives was some of the words. Also or get quite cross wanna catch a snapper on a albatross keep the boat tidy keep the boat clean was also included.`

Mark had advise us to always keep our birds safe by not construction a sea with litter in it. A sea of litter can end up killing more than five hundred fish and birds every year. Seabirds don’t really bother about what is below them and they just dive down and gobble up the scrap. When you are catching fish always have something like a water gun to frighten them. Because if the birds plunge down and take the fish on the hook they will end up getting hooked.

Kaimoana fish for the future was one of the songs that Mark sing to us when we were learning. He had told us that if we catch the big ones to put them back to breed more of fish. If you want to have a fish you must have a ruler to measure it so you can see how long it is. If you catch a small fish you must put it back so it can grow. If you have a perfect size fish use a wet towel to pick it up and put it in bucket with sea ice. After you get home put it in a bucket of seawater so it can be more fresher.

Kaimoana fish from the sea, Kaimoana to feed your family, fish for the future, and there will always be Kaimoana for you and me.

Mark was told us about water safe’s biggest problem that happens every year. People can end up dead if they don’t wear a life jacket because Mark told us a story. The story had 3 men that were speeding down the river and didn’t notice a big piece of log in the water. They had no life jackets on to wear and boom they had gone flying in the air. The men were great swimmers but unfortunately they didn’t make it and they ended up drowning.

Sadly they had to leave because it was almost morning tea and we the year 7 needed to go tech. Mark and Chrissy said their good bye’s and we left to class and got ready for tech. I had a great time watching hiwi the kiwi and getting a poster with a huge sticker for answering one of the questions.

Hiwi, Mark and Chrissy are people that show how to make kindness go viral around the New Zealand. They also taught us about hiwi the kiwi goes fishing and teaches us what is happening to our seas.

Olympic Writing

Writing: The Olympic games are a competition where top athletes compete for their country or nation. Only the top athletes from countries around the world qualify to represent their country. This explanation is going to explain how the Olympics came to be and they changed over time. Back in the Olympics it was all about the gods but now it is all about the sports in the Olympics.

Back when the first Olympics come to be men played the Olympic games naked. Woman were not allowed to watch or play the Olympic sports but now woman can play. The sports they played were Boxing, Chariot Racing and a Foot Race with people wearing a full suit of amour. For the first 13 games the Olympics only did the 200 dash

This year's Olympic games are held at Rio Brazil this year and the Olympic games have just started. The first sport that they had started with was the women's 200 metre sprints. The Olympics games are only to represent your community or nation that's it. People in the Olympic try to cheat and take drugs to make them way better in the sport they are doing. Athletes mostly from Russia take drugs and try cheat the Olympics that's why people don’t let Russian people compete.

If your are competing in the Olympic games you get tested if you had takin drags and make you pee into a small contina. The people that are testing you have to watch you pee because that check if that are peeing or not. For the men you have to pull up your sleeves and show the testers so that know you got no small poll going down your arm. People that have that and the tested don’t see they can use it to fake there pee and go into the Olympics with drugs.

We are going to study everything about the Olympics sports back in the days and now. We are going to learn about all the Olympics sports and watch the Olympic on T.V.

Kiwi's doing the Olympics

The world champion men’s team sprint trio of Eddie Dawkins, Ethan Mitchelland Sam Webster - named last month along with female sprinter Natasha Hansen – will be joined in Rio by current time trial world champion Linda Villumsen. The other world champion is mountain biker Sam Gaze, also confirmed last month, who recently took out the under-23 cross-country crow. Five current world champions will spearhead the New Zealand cycling team to next month’s Rio Olympic Games, announced today by the New Zealand Olympic Committee.

This is my little brother playing wresting with his teddy bear and doing one of the Olympics. Wrestling is a sport were you have do make them tap out or pin them and win the game. I have chosen this sport because it was the easiest one I could have done and have taken a photo my brother fighting a teddy.

Facts About One Sport

Athletics are very fast and are selected all around the world to race each other and see who's the fastest. Athletic mean fast runners and it's even happens in school when your doing athletics. The aim of the sport is to get pass the line first and come first, seconded and third. One rule is not to drink bad things to make you faster so you can win. Another rule is they if you starts to early two time's they would kick you off the running court.

2020 Tokyo Olympics Post

This is a poster for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics that I have made by using Design Mantic. I used it and then I used pic-monkey to add a little bit of detail and make look cool. The Tokyo Olympics are in 4 years and is going to be great. There are going to be a lot of people that are going from New Zealand.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is where the Olympics is gonna be this year. Rio de Janeiro is
were Brazil is and the statue. The statue is called Christ the Redeemer and is a statue of Jesus. The Olympics is there again this year and some of people from New Zealand are going to do Sports and represent New Zealand.  The statue is very special to the people around Rio because Jesus was the person who helped and saved us from the people that were bad.

Olympics Mascots

These people were the 2012 mascots for the Olympics and they are going to be the 2016 mascots for Rio de Janeiro. There names are Vinicius and Tom and they can be found on all of the advertisements. They are away's running around looking for attention from the people at the Olympics and showing off. These two are amazing people that go around chairing the people that are doing the Olympics

Woman are not allowed to play

Back in the day girls and woman were not allowed to participate because people thought that girls and woman don't have the power to do the sports. Woman and Girls were not even allowed to watch the men perform in the Olympics. Men back in the olden days were naked and had to do sports naked and I don't know why. Woman were banned and were not allowed to play or watch the Olympics.

What Sport would I do back in the day

Back in the day there were a lot of sports that you could do the sports you could do is here running, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse racing and pentathlon. If I was to pick a sport and do it back in the day I would pick wrestling. I would do wrestling because I like to play wrestling with my friends I have a great body to do wrestling. In wrestling to win you need to make them admit defect or quit. If I was to go back in the day and play the sport I wanted to I would play wrestling. I'm not that great when it come's to all the other sports because it doesn't suit me.

Milo of Croton

Milo was a very great athlete and was one of the first to win the Olympic. Instead of getting a gold metal he got a palm leaf that was placed in their hand and a crown to wear. The winner would have do wear a crown to show the people who had won the Olympic. Milo favourite sport was wrestling and he was brilliant at it. Wrestling was one of the first ever sports that they played at the Olympic. There were many sports back in the day that people played and they loved it. One of the sports were very reckless and they had to fight to the death. Woman were not aloud to participate in the Olympics back in the day.

I have been looking at Colin Thompson's art work and have been using alot of depth like Colin Thompson. And I have learnt what a birds eye view looks like and a worms one and I like them both. Extension Setting Description Task

This is my setting description task that I have done in extension this week.
I have learnt to writing things that I find on the picture and put it into a
sentence. There are three sentence's that I have done you can read all three
of them if you want too.

So'o Tau'au

This is a presentation about So'o Tau'au and being an Aspiring Leader So'o
Tau'au mean joining shoulders and helping. This is all about being kind to each
other and showing kindness to your friends. Al '87' is a group that gets everything
done and helps the school out. The group didn't get chosen they had to email
our teacher to help out the school and show kindness because they want to do
it.
